Why SideTape

Learning lines usually needs someone to read the other parts. That person is not always there when you have time to work.

SideTape gives you a reader whenever you need one. It listens for your line and answers with the next, so you can rehearse the way you would with a partner. The same scene then becomes your self-tape.

What matters most

• Hands-free first. Running lines with headphones, away from the screen, comes before everything else.
• Your script is private. Scripts are often confidential. Listening happens on your device, and your files stay there.
• Calm to use. Ivory paper and black ink, like a script. Red only appears when the microphone or camera is live.
• Plain words. Labels say what they do, in plain English.
• No surprises. SideTape never swaps your chosen reader for another voice without asking.

Where it is now

SideTape is in a small invited beta on TestFlight, Apple’s app for testing new apps. It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 26 or later.

The beta is how SideTape learns where it works well and where it does not. Testers’ reports decide what comes next.
